For advanced riding, Ride Drive (Southern) works in association with Ride Drive Ltd and UK Advanced, which prepare these courses to NVQ standard. When you are thinking about additional skills training, where do you start and which course is best suited to your needs? In addition you will want to decide what budget to set such that you can get the very best value. You need to think about why you want training and what skills you are hoping to improve, if you are still not sure of what to expect then simply call and talk through the various options so that any training can be tailored for your personal needs and expectations. Here are the various advanced options open to you:
Six Hour Development Course Advanced riding is for everyone and so are the skills required to ride a motorcycle safely on today’s roads. This course has been designed to meet the needs of a wide range of riders, so whatever your skill and experience level we tailor this course for you, which is why it is run this on a purely one to one basis. This means that you, the customer, receive constant and undivided attention throughout the course. It also allows you the time to draw as much from the event as possible and leave you with a more accurate profile of your riding skills. A full assessment is prepared at the end of the day. Multi-day Courses (price on application) If you know what you want then the full day maybe the option for you and if you ride with a friend then very cost effective in real terms. The course takes a detailed look at your riding skills and in the time available seeks to work on any areas requiring development. Having met with your trainer, you will have a safety briefing before getting out and onto the road, allowing a little time to relax before the road assessment begins. You will be invited to demonstrate your current riding skills to enable the trainer to consider the best options for the remainder of the session. This is all about looking at your personal riding style and tailoring the day to meet with your requirements. At the end of the session a full and detailed profile report will be completed and sent to you so that you have a reference detailing any remaining areas requiring further development.
Accredited Training Course Level Three Qualification Min three days for £299 two to one (£329 one to one) including certification @ £75 per person This course represents a real opportunity for riders to develop their skills without losing their individual flair and style. Many of the more recognised advanced tests dictate your riding style by ensuring that you conform to an often-rigid formula of delivery. The aim of this programme is to encourage self-awareness and the desire to improve skills without the loss of an individual riding style. It’s about being safe and in control at all times without the rigidity of some of the better known tests. Despite the title of this course it has actually been designed for riders of whatever ability. The content of the course has been ‘evidenced’ to an external accrediting body, in this case the Open College network, to ensure the quality of the training programme. There is a period of theory training followed by two days of on road training. This is because to get the very best from you and the skills that you will be introduced to, it is important to understand the theory to make the practical part make more sense. This allows you the opportunity of not only gaining more knowledge but also to challenge and discuss areas of riding that are important to you. Theory sessions are set at mutually agreeable times and the road elements are later agreed between us. At the conclusion of the course you will receive a detailed rider report and certificate issued by the Open College Network. If you would like more detail on this course then please do not hesitate to call. All of the above can be split into half-day sessions (at 50% the daily cost) and spread over a period to suit the customer (excepting the six hour course). |
